Connect with researchers
Bug Bounty Hunting is a lot more fun if you surround yourself with other researchers. There are a lot of friendly researchers out there that are willing and want to help you get started. You are going to run into potential findings that you think are vulnerable but need an extra set of eyes to help you figure it out. Even the best researchers get help from others.
Twitter seems to be the biggest communication hub for security. You will find a lot of amazing researchers releasing information about their findings. Read and learn from them, they've been doing this for a long time and their insights will help you.
The best way to meet new people is to get involved. Write about your findings. Tweet about interesting security. Attend local security meetups such as OWASP or application security groups at your local colleges. Go to security conferences such as Blackhat, Defcon, and App Sec Cali. You will meet other people involved in security.
